Council approves $15.3M in departmental budgets, grants salary increases

CT CROMWELL — Council approves $15.3M in municipal budgets, promotes two directors. The Cromwell Town Council unanimously approved departmental budgets during a special March 5 budget workshop, granting step increases to Library Director Kara Canney and Senior Center & Human Services Director Amy Saada and expanding the Youth Services Assistant position to full-time contingent on continued National Opioid Settlement Fund payments. Major approved budgets included the Employee Benefits Budget at $5.5 million, the Debt Services Budget at $3.6 million, the General Expenses Budget at $2.1 million (including $100,000 for Complete Streets), and the Town Manager's Office Budget at $366,802.
The Building Department Budget was tabled until March 11.
